New Year Resolution

Here we are again, at the beginning of another wonderful, fun-filled year!!!!  This year I have challenged myself to do a 365 (err, 366, since there is a leap year in 2012!!!) project.  That being said, each week I will be focusing on one theme and I will post my results here, for all of you to see!

January 1 - 7, 2012 - Naturally revolves around New Year Resolutions.

January 1, 2012 -  When I was in college, I lugged around a HUGE view camera and worked on a project called "Rebuilding Buffalo", it was a time when alot of Buffalo was under construction, well, I've always wanted to get out and add to this project, by photographing buildings and other structures all over Buffalo. So one of my resolutions will be to get out and take a photo as much as possible of different places in Buffalo so I can add to that project. The Buffalo Lighthouse has been a place I've been wanting to go for YEARS!!!!!! When I found out it was open to the public again, I nearly died with excitment!!! So yesterday, I took the kids down to the coastguard and walked a long path only to find out it wasn't open!!!!!! Only for tours!!!! BUT, I still got an up close and personal photo, so I'm happy :)

Resolution #1 - To get out and take photos to add to my project!!!

January 2, 2012 - I always see things and think "Oh I should take a picture of that" and rarely ever do, so one of my New Year Resolutions will be to stop and "smell the roses" so to speak and when I see something and think that, I will actually stop and take a photo of it.

Resolution #2 - "Stopping to smell the roses"

January 3, 2012 - As adults we tend to forget what it's like to make snow angels and how fun playing can be.  One of my New Year Resolutions is spending less time on the computer and more time with my girls!!!!

Resolution #3 - Let Kids Be Kids

January 4, 2012 - Once you begin photographing professionally, you tend to lose a lot of time to photograph for yourself.  It is sooo important to keep yourself sharp and up on fresh ideas.

Resolution #4 -  To take time to PLAY with my photography (and friends) and get back to the roots of why I love photography!!!!

January 5, 2012 - Not only is it a resolution, but also a goal of mine, I want to get more involved in product photography.

Resolution# 5 - This one actually ends up being a triple purpose photo.  1.) I want to practice doing more product photography 2.) I want to work more with high key/white backgrounds and 3.) (and the real reason I took this photo before I realized it coincided wtih the other 2) is I want to start to use more natural remedies, for a healthier and less toxic home.

January 6, 2012 - This one is rather literal, but my Personal To Do list, with, happily, only a few things moved over from last year!!!!

Resolution# 6 - To be successful with my To-Do List!!!!

January 7, 2012 - I literally got on the thruway, drove one exit, got off, parked then walked up to the bridge and took these photos.

Resolution # 7 - Going out of my way to find the beauty in nature.

I hope you have enjoyed my first week of photos in my Project 366!!!!

Taking updated photos of those re-building Buffalo shots to show a progress would be a cool long term project...
